Immigration Psychological Evaluations
Psychological evaluations for asylum, VAWA, hardship waivers, U Visas, and other immigration cases throughout the United States
Navigating the immigration process can be overwhelming, bringing uncertainty, emotional stress, and difficult life decisions for individuals and families.
At Multicultural Therapist, we understand that immigration is more than a legal process—it's a deeply personal experience shaped by culture, identity, family relationships, and life transitions. Our culturally responsive clinicians provide comprehensive psychological evaluations that recognize the emotional impact of migration while meeting the clinical standards required for immigration proceedings.
Our goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and prepared throughout the evaluation process. We collaborate closely with immigration attorneys to provide thorough, evidence-based reports that accurately reflect your experiences.
Our Immigration Psychological Evaluations Include
Hardship Waiver Evaluations
We assess the psychological impact that separation may have on qualifying family members and document how hardship could affect their emotional well-being and family functioning.
U Visa Evaluations
We provide evaluations for individuals seeking immigration relief as victims of qualifying crimes, documenting the emotional and psychological impact of their experiences.
VAWA Evaluations
We conduct psychological evaluations for individuals seeking protection under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), recognizing the effects of abuse, coercion, and trauma.
Asylum Evaluations
We assess the psychological impact of persecution, violence, trauma, and forced displacement, providing comprehensive evaluations that support asylum applications.

A Collaborative and Respectful Process
Every immigration story is unique. We take the time to understand your personal, cultural, and family experiences so your evaluation reflects the full context of your journey—not just a list of symptoms.
Professionalism and Confidentiality
Your privacy is essential. We maintain the highest ethical and professional standards throughout every stage of the evaluation process and work collaboratively with your immigration attorney when appropriate.
Our Evaluation Process
We work closely with immigration attorneys and follow the clinical standards commonly expected in immigration psychological evaluations.
We strive to make the evaluation process as clear, supportive, and efficient as possible. Throughout each step, we work collaboratively with you to ensure your experiences are accurately understood and documented.
-
The process begins with a 2-hour clinical interview, during which we'll learn about your immigration case, discuss the type of psychological evaluation you need, and explore your personal, family, and psychological history.
To help us complete a thorough evaluation, we ask that you bring any relevant documentation related to your case to the interview whenever possible.
The interview can be conducted in English or Spanish, depending on your preference.
A $450 deposit is due at the conclusion of the interview.
-
Your psychological report will be professionally prepared in English, following the clinical standards commonly required for immigration proceedings.
Reports are typically completed within 2–3 weeks after we have received all the necessary information and documentation.
If you need your report within one week, an expedited service is available for an additional $100.
If additional clarification is needed while preparing your report, we may contact you by phone to ensure the report accurately reflects your experiences.
-
Once your report is complete, we'll schedule a 30-minute review appointment.
During this meeting, we'll review the contents of the report together (in English or Spanish, if preferred) to verify the accuracy of the information and make any necessary minor corrections before finalizing the document.
The remaining $400 balance will be processed during this appointment.
You'll receive your completed report in a confidential, sealed envelope, ensuring your privacy throughout the process.
